I have a number of go to recipes I’ve found online, but it’s great to see a cookbook that takes on the Kamado style grill/smokers. As much as I like grabbing recipes online, getting a recipe from a cookbook somehow seems more authentic. There is something about flicking through pages in a cookbook you don’t get with the online experience – the serendipity of finding a new recipe you want to try out based on pictures and description.

I love my BGE and want to do more with it! Combined with backyard bug spray, it’s a great way to enjoy the first half of the evening. What comes off of it helps me enjoy the second half, and this book would make that even nicer!

Why should I win?? Why SHOULDN’T I??! Haha. My kamado Joe arrived two weeks ago. In the weeks prior to that, my husband teased me mercilessly. “Are you reading about grills again??!” I still know nearly nothing, and yet the food I make is the best I have ever had off a home grill. Bar none. I would love to win this book to learn even more! (I’m off now to “like” your Fb page and find you on Instagram. :-))

    Robyn
Hubbie has owned a BGE for about 2 years. He’s never been a cook but now is enjoying his reputation as a grill master extraordinaire! We make a good team as I research the recipes and create the rubs and he fires up the Egg. I need this cookbook to keep him grilling and me a little more out of the kitchen but well-fed. Plus Kansas City is home to so many BBQ fanatics and we need to hold our own. Liked you on FB and look forward to this awesome sounding new cookbook!

Love cookbooks – like you on FB and tweeted too.

    Robyn,
I have been re-building an old Kamado Grill from the 60′s. They came over direct from Japan and were sold in import stores. I have been re-fiting it with new BGE parts. (Firebox, charcoal grate, lid & hinges, rolling frame, etc) This cookbook would be a fine family addition to live alongside my ‘grill’ friend……

  22. Lois July 18, 2014 at 4:29 pm #

My hubby liked to BBQ and smoke meat, turkey, fish. He bought a BGE a few years ago and loved it! And I loved the food coming from it! Sadly he passed away from cancer almost 2 years ago. Since he did all the outdoor cooking, I had never cooked on a grill. I recently decided it was waste to see that beautiful BGE just sitting on the patio. A cookbook would be a huge help in learning to use this thing!

  23. Julia Johnston July 18, 2014 at 5:55 pm #

I don’t want this cookbook, I NEED this cookbook. My BGE is lonely, underused and waaaay too clean because I just don’t get how to use it. I don’t know why I don’t understand it (since I am, in general, a good cook and a good griller), but me=BGE=disaster. Please, my BGE begs you, give me this cookbook and help make me a convert. (And a Robyn lesson would help too.)

  24. Nik July 18, 2014 at 6:59 pm #

I’d love to win this cookbook! It looks nice, thanks for offering the contest! My wife and I just got a brand new Kamado Joe Classic, and are looking forward to trying some food on it. We’ve never used charcoal or smoke before, so this book looks like a great way to get familiar with this new way of cooking for us.
I shared your website link on Facebook & Twitter, and added/Liked you on both as well.

    Cheers!

  25. Robyn July 20, 2014 at 2:17 pm #

Julia, we need to spend some more time behind the egg (drinking wine of course) together. PS I really need to get our chicken and waffle party off the ground!
