Agua fresca is a Mexican drink that basically consists of water infused with fruit. It’s light, refreshing and amazingly delicious. You can substitute with any type of fruit as long as you are able to puree it in a blender.

This is an easy drink to make ahead of time or by the pitcher just remember to stir it prior to serving because when it sits for a long period of time the watermelon pulp separates and sinks to the bottom of the pitcher.

  • 2 cups of cubed chilled seedless watermelon
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • 2 – 3 tbsp. simple syrup or agave
  • 2-3 tbsp. fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz of vodka
  • ice

In a blender add your watermelon and water and puree.  In a cocktail shaker add 2 cups of the agua fresca, simple syrup {or agave}, lime juice, vodka and ice. Shake vigorously.  Place a strainer over your cocktail glass and pour. Garnish with a slice of lime and a watermelon wedge.
