Following the slump we all feel after Labor Day, I thought it was time to perk things up with a giveaway. In honor of Adam Perry Lang’s appearance on Greg Rempe’s BBQ Central Radio show last night, and the nice folks at Garland Jack’s who have donated a sampler pack of their Secret Six BBQ Sauces, I’m giving away APL’s latest cookbook and a sampler of sauces.
For those of you who don’t know Adam Perry Lang, he is my hero. A classically trained chef who fell in love with cooking over live fire. His cookbooks, which are phenomenal, teach you all about adding flavor in every step. His latest book, Charred & Scruffed challenges the mindset that you should NOT overhandle the meat. Adam is a self proclaimed “Active Griller” – he flips the meat often, and encourages the process that adds crust and caramelization to the meat, and therefore more flavor. Adam’s Brisket recipe was the inspiration for my Better Than Sex Brisket recipe which is one of the most popular recipes on my blog.
I actually got to “meat” Adam a while back at South Beach Wine and Food Festival event a while back and he is a super nice guy. I love it when I can talk live fire grilling with someone who really gets it. You will dig all Adam’s range of cookbooks- good luck to the winner of this contest!
