I get invited to a lot of local cooking comps to be a “celebrity judge” and I decided I needed a GrillGrrrl shirt for this purpose that made a statement. Hence, the GrillGrrrl bling t-shirt came about!
This shirt is teal with teal and silver sequined imprint with the name “GrillGrrrl”- It’s a sassy shirt for all the “GrillGrrrls” in your life. The shirt is a next level t-shirt in tahiti blue, which is my favorite t-shirt brand for their great fitting, soft cotton feel that doesn’t lose it’s shape. Cost
is $25- (pay pal button below).
Many of you know that I’m an animal lover, and if we’re friends on facebook you know that I’m often sharing shelter dogs in the South Florida area that need good homes (and will be euthanized once they run out of time). I’m a big advocate of supporting your local shelter for adopting a pet, which is where all 3 of my fur-babies came from. Miami Dade Animal Services is one of the highest kill shelters in the country and Pawsitive4life/Miami Dogs on the Move is a rescue organization that pulls dogs from this shelter and takes them to partnering (NO KILL) rescues in other parts of the country where they have a chance to be adopted and get the loving homes they deserve. Many of the dogs on doggie death row at MDAS get a second chance by being pulled by Paws2Care, and get adopted in places where there is a need for them.
Here is a recent article and video on channel 7about Miami Dogs on the Move: http://www.wsvn.com/news/articles/local/21009907802750/a-pet-project-going-the-distance/
Proceeds from the new GrillGrrrl bling shirt will be donated to Miami Dogs on the Move to contribute to “pulling” a dog from the high-kill shelter, and transporting to their fur-ever home elsewhere.
Animal rescue is near and dear to my hear and I’m excited to be able to contribute to this cause with the revenue from these cute shirts. The shirts are fitted so if you like them baggy, I’d recommend ordering a size up.
Here’s another photo of the shirt so you can get a good idea of what it looks like. Every time I wear mine I get a ton of compliments!
If you’d like to learn more about the “No Kill” movement, here is a recent article in Huffington post by Nathan Winograd about reform to make shelters around the country work towards homing adoptable shelter animals and ending the mass euthanasia that currently takes place.
