Vodka can have some pretty delicate flavors that would get lost in marinades, sauces, and or get cooked off. I would use the chipotle vodka in a trio of mini-deserts served on one plate.
First: a small scoup of a dark fruit sorbet like blackcurrant with some of the vodka poured over it. Dark fruits can be amazing with some deep spice.
Second: standard Tiramisu with the amaretto subbed out for the Chipotle vodka. A nice creamy dessert to balance the heat of the chillies.
Third: a simple large chunk of dark Belgian chocolate (75% cocoa) with a shotglass of the vodka next to it. Chocolate plays very well with both smoke and heat… so chipotles are chocolates best kept secret.
Optionally if you want a les boosy or more subtle desert, you can go for the above without the additional vodka worked into the deserts (and use amaretto in the tiramisu) but just serve the vodka next to the plate. Scoup of Blackcurrant sorbet, standard Tiramisu, and a hunk of chocolate all to playing against a serving of the Chipotle vodka.
I seem to remember vodka and Fresca
Wow!! I never would have thought of pairing vodka with those desserts!!! I love dark chocolate and will def try pairing it with this vodka
thx again for participating.
Sounds interesting. I’ve made my own pepper infused vodka by putting dried cayenne peppers in a bottle of Absolut. I think this stuff would be great in a Bloody Mary!
Ron,
I also think this would be perfect in a bloody mary. I could also see this as a great addition to a vodka sauce with pasta to add some nice heat and smoky flavor.
How about some home cured Chipotle Gravlax served on fried mini corn tortillas and a dollop of lime crema?
Wow. I had to google “gravlax” lol. This sounds amazing Clint!!!
Add a little Chipotle vodka to your favorite cocktail sauce and then enjoy a dynamite shrimp cocktail !
I would share this bottle with my friend Lori, who came up with the original version of this sophisticated treatment of Hangar One Chipotle Vodka. She called it “The Calvin Borel,” after the 3 time winning jockey of the Kentucky Derby).
2 oz. Hanger One Chipotle Vodka
3/4 to 1 oz. Lillet
1/4 oz. Cointreau
Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist and a paper thin slice of fresh jalapano. Sip while listening to Pink Martini.
Annettee-
. The paper thin slices of jalapeno sounds like an awesome garnish. Thanks for sharing!!
I love this idea and the name for this drink
I know it is too late to enter but I couldn’t pass up throwing this idea out: Instead of the classic penne with Vodka sauce, turn it Southwestern by using the Hanger One Chipotle Vodka and some other SW spices in the sauce.
